Overview
Stable interfacing of external electronics to nervous tissue has significant implications for our understanding of neuronal function, and for the design of ‘intelligent’ neuroprosthetic devices.
Goals
- implement technology for recording from and stimulating neural tissue in vitro and in vivo
- develop neuro-integrative coatings with embedded neuro-adhesive and neuotrophic properties
- create long-term cultures on multi-electrode arrays (MEAs) to study plasticity and learning
